Discover the charm of Hesed House, our family’s labor of love perched on the edge of a gentle cliff in Cherrapunjee. Overlooking lush meadows and serene streams, our home is a haven of tranquility where we homeschool our children, explore the outdoors, bake, read, and share stories by the fireplace. Whether you seek a peaceful retreat to pause and breathe or a space to reflect amidst the hills, Hesed House is the perfect sanctuary for you.
Hesed House is a four-bedroom retreat built on two large step-like rocks, featuring local stone walls and wooden floors and ceilings. The upper rock forms an integral part of the house, jutting out over the lower lounge. Upon entering, you’ll find a cozy bedroom, a spacious sitting area with a fireplace, and a small study and library. The sitting area leads to a glass-enclosed loggia, serving as our cafe and breakfast nook. A small kitchen with a wood-fired brick oven and modern stove tops is nearby. An iron and wooden staircase descends to a mid-level bedroom and further to the downstairs lounge, where two more bedrooms open. The lounge connects to a large deck built with sturdy local logs, perfect for enjoying the picturesque views of Cherrapunjee.
Guests have full access to our kitchen, common areas, and extensive outdoor spaces. While we encourage you to enjoy meals in the upstairs loggia/cafe area, our caretakers are available to cook for you upon request. They provide cleaning services and can prepare tea and freshly ground coffee. Feel free to use our small study and library at any time, bringing books to the common areas or your room. We offer discounts for reservations of the entire house or three bedrooms for three days or more. Please note that this listing is for the entire house, with individual bedrooms available separately on Airbnb. Enjoy the serene lounges, balconies, and sitting areas, all designed to enhance your stay at Hesed House.
